This is Why GHE Works!

I am so grateful for all of you and your hard work and dedication. These past few weeks, we have been confronted with the fact that not everyone is paid a fair wage for the amount of work that they do. I know that is true for everyone in our building. I support everyone's right to advocate for themselves and I know that the method many are using are these "sick out" days. I also appreciate the dedication that our IAs and our cafeteria staff have shown despite being well within their rights to participate in this effort. Everyone of you have been so flexible and willing and positive even with added stressors both personal and professional. This all contributes to that GHE Magic that people feel when they walk in this building. Other schools are losing staff members left and right, but I am so happy to report that we just filled our last vacancy with the awesome Ms. Rhyna Smith!  It is worth noting, that Ms. Smith wanted to see our building before she accepted the position. I have no doubt that your incredible spirit won her over.

We work because...

Every single one of you gives your all to your jobs and then some.

Mrs. Amy Venturini and Mrs. Anna Loeffler held down the CCR fort all by themselves for all this time.

Ms. Maria Yaros is such a problem solver in navigating the very strict guidelines of Child Nutrition and helping the rest of us understand them.

Our IAs and our Cafeteria staff reported to work on the 16th!

Our Intervention Team does incredible work. They had a big victory this week getting the right thing done for a particular child.

Ms. York, Ms. Ireland, Ms. Zimmers do lunch duty.

Ms. Tew, Ms. Wood, Ms. Caruso, Ms. Hoffman, Ms. Rohila, Ms. Belpu, Ms. Parker, Ms. Fellows, Ms. Panicker, and Ms. Nandi, and  Mrs. Cartier do recess duty.

Ms. D'Amico, Ms. Harrington, Ms. Gardner, and Ms. Wilson, and Ms. Blasko do lunch or bus duties in addition to their Virtual Academy teaching duties. Ms. Cossa, Ms. Parker, and Ms. Harrington do bus duties.

Ms. Morrison and Ms. Jones approach the daunting task of being a long term sub in a virtual class with grace and amazing work ethic.

Ms. Liu, and Ms. Hamilton spend extra time with our CCK friends when needed.

Ms. Surmacewicz, Ms. Rocker, and Ms. Ahrens can handle anything that can be thrown at them- literally!

Ms. Cossa and Ms. Goodman love working with AIG kids and it shows!

Ms Driggers does Art by Me!

Ms. Jessica gives kids such a great start.

Ms. Carrelha graciously shares space with book fairs, and stays here past her bedtime for Family Night.

Ms. Kelly has endless patience and never gets grumpy!

Mr. Lombardo brings in his own tools and moves televisions sets, and fixes desks, and schedules.

Ms. Repke handles data and duties- and random filming requests from former parents.😁

Ms. Patterson, while handling her own classroom crisis serves as a listening ear to a student in another grade level.

Ms. Loeffler never misses an opportunity to ask if she can help and does morning bus duty.

Ms. Irma climbs into the tunnel on the ground to K-2 playground to clean up a student's lunch.

Our specialists run the best carpool game in town, and go out of their way to help when needed.

Ms. Arellano is a great principal intern!

We laugh

And because Ms. Zimmers, in addition to learning a new job during a pandemic, has added to the job description snake wrangler, and plumber.

Each and every one of you does what is needed for our school to thrive.  Despite having families of your own to take care of, you report every day and commit to our school. Thank you!

Still Soaring!

Such exciting events happening at GHE! Thank you so much for all of your support of the SOAR-a-thon activities. As usual you handled it with such professionalism and enthusiasm and we blew away our goal. You have weathered the situation with the buses. I I know it doesn't give you more time or more money, but please know how incredibly grateful I am that you are such an amazing hardworking group of people.

Mrs. York thank you for rocking as Freddy!

Spirit!

Kudos for Ms. Coleman!

From a Parent:

I just wanted to let you know that Ms. Coleman is an absolutely phenomenal teacher and person.  I'm sure you already know, but it's always nice to hear it from a parent, (but also a fellow educator).  Not only is she kind, thoughtful, nurturing, understanding, and a safe person for the kids to talk to, but she is also organized, communicative, proactive, and smart about the decisions she makes....she is having the best year and she absolutely loves Ms. Coleman.  "

And now... (hear a drumroll in your head please, because I couldn't figure out a way to embed one)
