Love Love Love

Enjoy this classic!

There are many different concepts of love. In light of this being February, the focus is on romantic love. I'm going to leave that one right there with you.😉 However, love enters into the work we do here every day. It is the selfless love that you show for your students and colleagues by bringing your best even in the hardest of times. You are providing Tier 2 interventions in your classroom when there is so much other work that I know you could be doing. You spend time conferencing with parents and filling out behavior contracts. You spend time after school learning new curriculum materials or revising old ones when you could be doing something else. You spend time making detailed plans and notes about students when you have a substitute teacher because you want your students to have the best care possible while you are out.

It is the collegial love you have for each other that allows you to bring others up when they are down and allows them to do the same for you.  It is that same collegial love that has you covering each other's classes. lunches, recesses, and helping substitute teachers find their way.

It is that loving spirit that makes GHE such a special place. It is easy to think that you are just rule followers and compliant with directives. You are that, but if you were only that, GHE would not be the place that it is. We would not get more sub coverage than any other school in the area, and more Central Service volunteers than other schools. People love to come here! Thanks to Deb Hampton and Hannah Hunt for teaching our Student Council how to love and care for others with service projects like Wake up and Read!

I hope during this month, you feel the love and appreciation that you deserve. Happy Valentine's Day!

What's to see around GHE!
